The implication is that these are products for serious users with high expectations for consistent quality and longevity.
Sadly, these terms are rarely found next to the words “Chiminea” or “Fire Pit.” Most of us have been guilty at one time or another of succumbing to the temptation of taking home that sharply priced version of one of these from the local retail or hardware superstore. The first few weeks it looks good, keeps the fire in, everybody loves it. Then at some point your teenager has friends over and they use it and dump water all over the fire and then put the cover on, and by summer’s end there’s rust everywhere. The Chiminea Outdoor Fireplace is our take on the traditional Chiminea. It features a square base with a mesh on all four sides for a clear view of the fire no matter where you’re seated. The dished floor and raised edges keeps the fire contained, while the stainless mesh ensure no embers will pop out. One side is a locking door that swings open on brass-pin hinges to allow for loading wood or roasting marshmallows – you decide! The 1/4″ thick steel roof and chimney pipe guide much of the smoke up and away from your seating area. Although this fireplace comes with a small drainage hole in the floor to prevent rainwater from gathering, a cap can be added to the chimney for added protection and aesthetic.
